MIMIC-III-Ext-PPG: A PPG Benchmark Dataset for Cardiorespiratory Analysis

Summary

MIMIC-III-Ext-PPG is a curated benchmark dataset derived from MIMIC-III ICU waveforms, released on PhysioNet by Moulaeifard, Charlton, and Strodthoff (the same team as the generalizable BP benchmarking paper). The dataset provides 30-second WFDB-formatted segments of preprocessed PPG (and co-registered ECG, ABP, respiratory) waveforms with a rich set of multi-task labels: blood pressure (SBP, DBP), heart rate, respiratory rate, signal quality index (SQI), and AFib annotations. The key contribution over raw MIMIC-III is standardised preprocessing, quality filtering, and multi-target label extraction that supports reproducible comparison across algorithms.
