Small Morocco-based group (UIR / UM6P / Leeds) proposes an analysis-by-synthesis framework for wrist-PPG HR and RR estimation. Instead of regressing HR/RR directly from raw PPG+accel, the model predicts a small set of physiologically meaningful parameters (fundamental frequency, 3 harmonic amplitudes, gain, baseline, plus a residual and an uncertainty term) and synthesizes the clean PPG waveform from them via an explicit sinusoidal generative model. HR comes from the recovered fundamental frequency; RR comes from slow modulations of the harmonic parameters.
