- Insulin Resistance Prediction from Wearables and Routine Blood Biomarkers2026 · Nature 2026
The WEAR-ME study, published in Nature, predicted insulin resistance in 1,165 remote participants using wearable time series and routine blood tests, with HOMA-IR as ground truth. The multimodal model reached AUROC 0.80, and a wearable foundation model pretrained on 40 million hours of sensor data added value. In a separate cohort of 72, adding wearable features to demographics, fasting glucose and lipids raised AUROC from 0.76 to 0.88.

- SensorFM: Toward a General Intelligence and Interface for Wearable Health Data2026 · arXiv preprint
Google's SensorFM is a wearable health foundation model pretrained on more than one trillion minutes of unlabelled sensor data from five million participants. Scaling model size and data together steadily improved results across 35 health prediction tasks in cardiovascular, metabolic, sleep and mental health, lifestyle and demographics.
