- Artificial Intelligence Applied to Electrocardiograms Recorded in Sinus Rhythm for Detection and Prediction of Atrial Fibrillation: A Scoping Review2025 · Medicina
This scoping review covers 19 studies that used AI on ECGs recorded in normal sinus rhythm to find hidden atrial fibrillation or predict new AF. Models detected subclinical AF with AUROC 0.75 to 0.90 across ten studies and predicted long-term new AF with AUROC 0.69 to 0.85 across six. Eleven studies had robust external validation, and the authors note retrospective designs and limited calibration reporting as common weaknesses.
